OCC's Signature Club Ride! It has something for every cyclists of all abilities. Riders break themselves up into smaller groups and head out with designated ride leaders at a pre-established ride level or pace. There are no coffee stops on this ride.

Experienced club members will offer assorted training rides dealing with things like riding in a group, drafting, pace lines, hill climbing, etc. On occasion instruction will be offered on areas like light bike maintenance and changing a tube.

Below is a sample of the types of rides, Richard will be offering with his Saturday Morning Theme Rides.

Location: Lakeview Park, Oshawa
Level: C
Need to know: This ride will see us exploring the wonderful Waterfront Trail from Oshawa to Ajax. Meet at Lakeview Park Oshawa in the parking lot immediately west of the Jubilee Pavilion . We will ride the trail to Ajax with a coffee stop at Timmy’s there. On the return we will ride some of the new section of trail along Bayly/Victoria. The full route will be about 45 km, over 95% on paved trails, 5% on side roads, and is suitable for C Riders. Those who wish to do a shorter distance can turn around earlier on the trail. .
Location: Iroquois Park Whitby
Level: C
Need to know: Park close to the Whitby Art Gallery but not in their parking lot. It will be a 40 km ride visiting several locations with interesting art displays including the Oshawa Art Gallery and Parkwood Estates, where we will take a short lunch break - food and drink available for purchase at their tea house and gift shop. The ride will be well over 80 per cent on paved bike trails and suitable for C riders.
Location: Port Hope Town Hall, 56 Queen St
Level: C+
Need to know: The ride starts at Port Hope Town Hall, 56 Queen Street downtown Port Hope (take 401 exit at Highway 28/Ontario Street and go south). Note there is a farmers market going on behind the Town Hall, but there will be free parking available there or on the street out front. The ride will be about 45 km, with a few small hills on the way back, but still suitable for C+ plus riders. We will stop for lunch at the downtown Cobourg Farmer’s Market and pay a visit to the very unique Primitive Design location on our way back to Port Hope
Location: Ajax Sportsplex 2001 Audrey Rd Ajax
Level: C
**Need to know: ** The ride will take us through some of the extensive network of trails that cover the bike friendly town of Ajax. We will meet at the Ajax Sportsplex, 2001 Audrey Road North in Ajax at 9:00 am. There will be a short Timmy’s stop halfway through the ride. The ride will be just over 40 km, over 80 per cent on paved trails with the rest on the road, and will include a visit with Monty the British Royal Guardsman. The ride is suitable for C riders
Location: Lakeview Park, Oshawa
Level: C
Need to know: Join us as we explore the trails of Oshawa and learn about the history of this once giant automotive city. Meet in the parking lot on the west side of the Jubilee Pavilion in Lakeview Park. The ride will be approximately 45 km, 75 per cent on paved bike trails and is suitable for C Riders. We will take a lunch break at Panera Bread at the Costco Plaza - other eateries located there too.
Location: Pickering West Shore Community Centre 1015 Bayley Street West.

Need to know: A beautiful ride along the Waterfront Trail over the Rouge River as we ride to the connecting Highland Creek Trail. Meet at the West Shore Community Centre, 1015 Bayly Street Pickering (west of Liverpool Road). The ride will will a stop at the sculpture gardens at the Guildwood Inn and will be about 40 km in length, over 75 per cent on paved bike trails, and is suitable for C riders. Our lunch break will be at Guildwood Plaza which has a Timmy’s and Subway
Location: Russett Park
Level: C
Need to know: Starting at Russett Park in North Oshawa, we will ride trails and multi use pathways as we ride around the town of Whitby, visiting the Wounded Warriors Park by the old Cullen Gardens and see two castles. We will take a lunch stop at the Portuguese Bakery. Route is 85 per cent on paved trails.
Location: Hobbs Public School
Level: C+
Need to know: Starting at Hobbs Public School at Taunton and Green Roads in Hampton we will ride north and east through the small hamlets of Enniskillen, Hayden, Tyrone and Orono seeing the interesting sights along the way including the replica airplanes, McLaughlin Carriage display and Tyrone Mills, with a stop at the “secret garden.” We will take a rest stop in Orono before we head back to Hampton. Route is around 45 km long, all in country roads, with some hills.
Location: Donegan Park, D’Arcy St, Cobourg
Level: C+
Need to know:We’ll ride east through Grafton with lunch stop in Colborne and stop Optional short ride through downtown Cobourg and waterfront afterwards. Or come early and check out the Farmer’s Market before the ride. Ride is about 50 to 55 km, almost entirely on roads, either with paved shoulders or quiet side roads.
Location: Samuel Wilmot Nature Park, Toronto St, Newcastle
Level: C+
Need to know: A traditional club ride on Lakeshore Road from the Pirt of Newcastle area to the historic town of Port Hope when we will take a lunch break at the town hall. Route is about 60 kilometres in length almost entirely on quiet roads.
Location: Delpark Homes Centre
Level: C
Need to know: A new ride as we explore the booming north end of the city. Starting at the Delpark Homes Centre (the former Legends Centre), we will ride through some of the newer developments in the city and through the Durham College/Ontario Tech campus, but also by Windfield Farms and the burial spot of Northern Dancer, one of Oshawa’s most famous ride. One of our beginner rides, it will be around 40 kilometres at an easy pace on all roads
Location: Wilket Creek Park, Parking Lot # 2
Level: C+
Need to know: This ride takes us down the Don Valley Trail in Toronto and out to the Leslie Spit where you can catch a fantastic view of the Toronto skyline. We will view some of the art structures and colourful graffiti along the trail and make a lunch stop at the Evergreen Brick Works. The route is almost entirely on busy bike trails and about 55 kilometres in length.
