Aug 27, 2006 Despite the threat of rain nearly 200 riders enjoyed the 23rd Annual Scugog Circle Century. The O.C.C. executives would like to thank all participants and volunteers for supporting this great event and invite you to return in 2007. Aug 22, 2006 Tonight marked the first T.T. on the new 11.3 km course length. Due to the addition of a new stop sign the route length had to be adjusted. The result produced some very fast times. Jan 1, 2006 Top 5 things to remember for 2006 Dec 10, 2005 The Region of Durham has initiated a study to develop a comprehensive Cycling Plan. The plan will provide a coordinated Regional cycling system serving both the urban and rural areas of Durham. This region-wide strategy will support and encourage leisure, tourism and commuting cycling, and is scheduled for completion by the fall of 2005. The Study will lead to the development of proposed cycling policies, guidelines and monitoring strategies, along with a recommended Regional Cycling Network that is expected to consist of on-road bike routes and off-road trails. Oct 2, 2005 Today was a beautiful day for the 5k run/1k walk in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation's fundraising drive to create a future without breast cancer. Our members were found directing traffic, working aid stations, leading out runners or running the 5k route out of Lakeview Park in Oshawa. Sept 25, 2005 Two members of the O.C.C. conquered the 1st Annual Hasting Hilly Hundred www.hillyhundred.ca. Starting in Bancroft at 7:30am Saturday on either a 60, 80 or 160k route riders were meet by numerous climbs and greeted by many lakes. Our 160k finishers recommend this ride for those looking for a scenic challenge. Sept 2, 2005 Yet again the volunteers, weather and the 300+ riders made the 22nd Scugog Circle Century a ride to remember. From big packs to solo riders all enjoyed this popular annual event hosted by the Oshawa Cycling Club. June 2, 2005 The first Time Trial of the 2005 season was held at the Zion church on Tuesday May 31st. Great weather brought out 17 club members to bench mark their fitness over the challenging 10 mile course. (results) May 15, 2005 Our first Saturday Nite Ride & Potluck dinner hosted by Chantal & family was a huge success. More than 40 members and their families enjoyed a new feature to the O.C.C. schedule of events. (pictures) Apr 3, 2005 The O.C.C.'s 25th Anniversary season has started. Although the weather has made it one of the most challenging starts to a season in recent history, many members continued to ride. (more) Dec 22, 2004 Just in time for Christmas the O.C.C. makes a $500 donation to the Denise House Emergency Shelter for Abused Women and Their Children. The Denise House, located in Oshawa and celebrating it's 20th anniversary received their donation as a result of a successful 2004 Scugog Circle Century Tour. www.thedenisehouse.com
