If you have been wondering about the banner above, your questions will now be answered. As announced at our Winterlude awards banquet, the OCC has teamed with the United Way to present the "Ride4UnitedWay". This new feature ride will take the place of our traditional Scugog Circle Century Tour. There are four totally new routes and up to four rest stops. The routes are in the ridges and hilly so start training now. The OCC will also be at the Toronto Bike Show (March 13,14,15). We will be at the "Ride4UnitedWay" booth promoting the new ride and handing out some promotional material of our own as well. If you go to the show, come on over and check us out.
In other news, we have added a new "Rookie Ride" to our weekday schedule. Check here for more information. Also the 2008 award winners have been listed and there are some new photos from the Winterlude banquet in the photo gallery. Congratulations to all our winners. The 2009 OCC calendar is also now available.

It looks like 2009 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the OCC with the planning of our new feature ride well under way. Watch for updates to the new "Ride The Ridge" addition to our web site.
The 2009 Oshawa Cycling Club Executive and Tour Committee members were selected at the General Meetings held on November 17th and December 1st respectively. It was also decided by vote that the Scugog Circle Century would be changed for 2009 into a new format that will hopefully attract more cyclists to the event. Stay tuned for more exciting news as details regarding the new ride become available.
The November Issue of "The Outspoken" is being released today. It will arrive via e-mail to all club members or you can read it right here on the web site. The Fall General Meeting is scheduled for November 17th, Bobby Orr Lounge at the Oshawa Civic Auditorium 7:00 p.m. All members should plan to attend.
Today the Oshawa Cycling Club unveils its newly designed web site. The new site should make navigation a little easier and has a few new features. We now have a photo gallery which shows some of our activities and a members forum/ride board that should help our members keep in touch with each other a little easier. We hope you take the time to explore our redesigned site. A special thanks to Chris and James of BlinkBlink for their help with the redesign. Although we have tried to work out all the bugs in the new site, if you have any problems with it please contact us.
Gerald Corrigan, one of the founding members of the Oshawa Cycling Club opened his home and hosted a BBQ lunch for the Wednesday morning riders. The riders returned from their usual trip to the Orono Bakery and were treated to burgers and beverages on Gerry's deck in honour of his 80th birthday. More pictures can be viewed in the photo gallery.
After a gruelling summer training schedule, Team "Cora-Marty-Brent" left their mark at the Guelph Lake II Sprint Triathlon Relay. Cora led the team in the swim, followed by Marty on the bike and anchored by Brent in the run. There has been much discussion between the two male members of this team regarding who catapulted them to their 3rd place finnish. Most club members know that Cora is their real strength and she just brings the guys along for the ride.
A rain filled summer came to a sudden halt for the 25th running of the Scugog Circle Century.
Riders full of smiles enjoy this annual event consisting of 60, 80, 100 & 160k fully supported routes.
Year after year riders continually make their way to Durham College to test their fitness on our routes.
The positive feedback received ensures OCC volunteers are successfully contributing to the cycling
community of Durham Region.
Congratulations to all participants, volunteers and organizers!
