WHAT'S NEW
The 2010 season for the Oshawa Cycling Club is filled with many new activities and events. All the new stuff required a redesign of the web site which will be unveiled soon. In the meantime, we are releasing our first new feature. Registration for your 2010 memberships is now available in both paper and electronic format. Visit our join page and register for the upcoming season.

FALL GENERAL MEETING
The fall General Meeting of the Oshawa Cycling Club will be held on Monday, November 23rd at 7pm
in the Bobby Orr Lounge (top of stairs to pool) of the
Oshawa Civic Auditorium (Thornton Rd., just south of Hwy 2 West, Oshawa).
The agenda will consist of a financial update, membership update, executive elections for all positions, membership fee changes, on-line registration and any new business brought forth by the membership. All members should plan to attend this important meeting.

NEW START LOCATION FOR THE "RIDE4UNITEDWAY"
The starting location for the "Ride4UnitedWay" has been moved!!! The Official Registration site and the Supplemental Information Web site above have both been changed to reflect the change. Also, the Supplemental Information site has been updated with some new and exciting information.

ROOKIE RIDE HUGE SUCCESS
The new "Rookie Ride" started this year in May has become a huge success. The ride has been averaging about 20 riders every Tuesday night and the new riders are full of enthusiasm. Their distances and speeds will gradually increase over the season as their experience and fitness grows. A special thanks to Melissa and her volunteers for teaching and leading our new members.

OSHAWA CYCLING CLUB KICKS OFF NEW SEASON
The month of April turned out to be a banner month for the OCC. Not only has the club membership exceeded 110 members, with many new and returning members, but also rider participation on most weekend and weekday club rides has been exceptional (weather permitting).

OSHAWA CYCLING CLUB TEAMS UP WITH THE UNITED WAY
If you have been wondering about the banner above, your questions will now be answered. As announced at our Winterlude awards banquet, the OCC has teamed with the United Way to present the "Ride4UnitedWay". This new feature ride will take the place of our traditional Scugog Circle Century Tour. There are four totally new routes and up to four rest stops. The routes are in the ridges and hilly so start training now. The OCC will also be at the Toronto Bike Show (March 13,14,15). We will be at the "Ride4UnitedWay" booth promoting the new ride and handing out some promotional material of our own as well. If you go to the show, come on over and check us out.
In other news, we have added a new "Rookie Ride" to our weekday schedule. Check here for more information. Also the 2008 award winners have been listed and there are some new photos from the Winterlude banquet in the photo gallery. Congratulations to all our winners. The 2009 OCC calendar is also now available.

2009 MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE
Happy New Year!!!!! Make it your New Year's resolution to be ready for the 2009 cycling season. Your first step is to download, fill out and mail in your OCC membership application. The next steps are reviewing your bike for maintenance issues and planning yourself a fitness regime that will get you in shape by spring.
It looks like 2009 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the OCC with the planning of our new feature ride well under way. Watch for updates to the new "Ride The Ridge" addition to our web site.

NEW EXECUTIVE AND TOUR COMMITTEE ANNOUNCED
The 2009 Oshawa Cycling Club Executive and Tour Committee members were selected at the General Meetings held on November 17th and December 1st respectively. It was also decided by vote that the Scugog Circle Century would be changed for 2009 into a new format that will hopefully attract more cyclists to the event. Stay tuned for more exciting news as details regarding the new ride become available.
